Lauren Steele is a Midwestern farm girl turned migrant. Blend up a love for people, a sense of adventure, and a conviction to tell tales, and you’ve got yourself a writer who will run to the top of a mountain to get the story. That’s Lauren.
Her body of work includes stories on just about everything – from skiing in the untouched mountains of Kyrgyzstan to Chilean national fùtbol champs to a guide on pooping in the woods.
After leaving the family farm to attend the University of Missouri School of Journalism, she's rambled across the world reporting, from Santa Fe to Manhattan to Uganda. And her love for running has come in handy while putting in those miles.
She began her career writing and editing at publications such as Outside, Rolling Stone, Vice, Men’s Journal, Men’s Fitness, Collective Quarterly, and New York Magazine.
When not putting her name behind the byline, Lauren has spent time in front of the lens – doing on-camera work with Jimmy Kimmel Live, Nike, Columbia Sportswear, and several television and talk show appearances.
